The Challenge

Produce 5 events spanning 3 years surrounding a new Toyota manufacturing facility in Woodstock, Ontario. This included a press announcement, the groundbreaking ceremony, closing-in ceremony, ribbon cutting, and plant opening celebration. The events ranged in venue from a high school auditorium to the floor of a finished automotive plant, with dignitaries from the highest levels of government and industry, as well as international media, in attendance.

The Solution

TPM tied all five events together with a single theme—Breaking New Ground—to maintain continuity and build excitement over time. Each event had its own distinct personality and targeted multimedia spectacles—including the use of two giant cranes to raise a massive HD projection screen out of a trench in the ground to open the Groundbreaking ceremony. Together the events marked an important milestone for Toyota, the town of Woodstock, and the Canadian automotive industry.
